Turn Around
After the excitement of receiving the view of the gold patches shown in my post yesterday, I turned around and saw my neighbor’s trees silhouetted against the clouds. Quickly, I pulled out my I-phone again and received this additional gift. Seconds later the beautiful sunset pastel disappeared.
I am thankful to have my I-phone camera ready at all times. I can never anticipate when a gift will present itself.

Not Every Sunrise is Bright
Misty Morning from My Backyard
The few days prior to this were beautiful orange and pink sunrises. The previous days in late November had been warm. During the night, the temperature had dropped. I was drinking my morning cup of coffee looking out over my back yard, waiting for another brilliant sunrise. I was surprised as the sun creeped over the horizon exposing this misty view of the valley below. Each morning has its unique beauty.

Beautiful Way to Start the Day
“Looking Out My Bedroom Window”
I received this beautiful gift yesterday morning. The combination of a brilliant sunrise reflecting off beautiful lenticular clouds … I couldn’t ask for a better way to start the day. It inspired me to get out and spend several hours walking around my yard taking remnants of the fall colors with my macro lens. It was a wonderful morning, full of discovery and exploration!

Multiple Exposure: Dogwood Blooms and Asphalt Pavement
I got a little bored shooting in the garden. Nothing was “Popping” for me. So I thought I would have a little fun with multiple exposures. This image is a combination of a Pink Dogwood branch and a texture photo of a section of asphalt pavement. Magic happens.
To finish it off I decided to experiment a little with Topaz Impression. Here I used the Impasto I preset. Something a little different.

It Is Good to be Back in the Country
Canon 7D MkII, EF 100-400mm L@ 100mm, f/11, 1/1000 sec, ISO 400
This is my first blog entry since the end of 2015. Since then I have moved from Bucks County, Pennsylvania (between Philly and NY City) to rural Central Washington. It is good to be back home in the country side where I grew up. Life is simpler here.
Residential growth has expanded in the rural areas. The area where I live was an orchard belonging to one of my school mates family. I remember exploring the area when I was a kid. There is a lot of rural charm in the area including this tree located on a nearby side hill. There are still a lot of undeveloped areas to explore. My challenge will be to get out several times a week, walk the area and find new adventures.
